THE POWER OF DETERMINATION

Determination is that firmness of purpose which gives us the drive to achieve our aims, objectives, goals, targets or intents.

The most common set of people you can find around are people living without an ambition, purpose, drive or determination. Such people always want to remain local. They never want to move into the ‘global’ scene. They start their local routine from a local primary school to a local secondary school, get a local university degree, get a local job, marry a local person, raise kids in a local setting and send them to a local school and the cycle continues? Break out of that status quo! Even if you were born local, you should not die local! It does not matter where you are coming from. What matters is how you want your future to be.
Until you change your desire, your position cannot change  and if your position is not changed, your status will never change!
The real things are not seen and the things that are seen are not real! The real things are those ideas, passions, desires and dreams you have on the inside of you, propelling you towards success. You need to nurse those ideas and feed them with the right information to enable them get to maturity. Sometimes, people may not believe in it but if you can believe in it, nothing will stop you. One sound idea can catapult a man from obscurity to prosperity! When these desires push you to a point where you have no option but to make them happen, success becomes inevitable!
There comes a time in your life that you must decide either to succeed or fail. Only determined people can succeed in life because life belongs to the enthusiastic!
The day you decide, the devil will descend. Precious things are not found on the surface so you need to dig deep to obtain them.
The invention of the airplane today is credited to the Wright brothers but they were not the original owners of the idea. The original owner of the idea is Dr. Samuel Langley but he gave up the research probably because of criticism and lost his place in the annals of history! A little determination beyond the ordinary can get you to your place of fulfilment earlier than anticipated. Everything that is now global was once local, it was determination that made the changes!
A determined person does not go back to give up, he goes back to change strategy!
If the old don’t have ideas and visions, it is not that bad but when youths lack these, it is pathetic!
If you lost your money, nothing is lost; if you lost your car, nothing is lost; if you lost your house, nothing is lost but if you lost your DRIVE and DETERMINATION in life, ALL IS LOST!

Phase Shift

As our nation Nigeria clocks 50, so much have been running through my mind. Perhaps the greatest discovery ever is the fact that all human beings can alter their lives by altering or changing their mindsets.
I sense that a new season has come for all to change their attitudes in order to get the best out of this life. It is the season for the next generation (the youths) in Africa to chart a new course for their future. The fact that the previous years have not been very productive does not mean the future is bleak. As a matter of fact, it is normal for people to go through the ‘workshop’ experience before they can be exhibited in the ‘showroom’. When you visit the furniture maker, you will discover that the workshop experience is not a pleasurable one  for the wood but it is required for it to get to the showroom. As a nation, we have been going through all the ‘hammering’ and ‘chiselling’ stages and many have lost faith in the system because of their painful experiences. It is also certain that if we do not learn from all our mistakes in this ‘workshop’ we may never see the ‘showroom’ which is the pride of every furniture maker. Until we put our minds to work in Nigeria, we can never get to the showroom.
We must enter into an era of creative thinking and mental sophistication. Africa needs a mental revolution! The minds of our youths have been put to sleep for so long.
There is an updated memo from the CEO (Chief Executive Officer) of heaven, challenging every mind in Africa, Nigeria in Particular, to ARISE from SLUMBER! Many young people in Africa today are suffering from a syndrome I refer to as ‘Mental Conditioning’. Their minds have been programmed to think unilaterally, thereby preventing them from thinking outside the box and because of this, many of them have lost their sense of value. They pursue the ‘immediate’ and forgo the ‘ultimate’. You must decide what your immediate (Present gain) and your ultimate (Future gain or Purpose) should be because many  have duped their future due to their inability to differentiate between their immediate and their ultimate.
Furthermore, learn to pursue your goals and aspirations with utmost zeal. Become an incurable optimist! This is how you can get the best out of life. Dare to start afresh and challenge the old unproductive ways of doing things because your best lies ahead.
The phase of corruption, waste and violence should not be accepted by this generation because it has not helped in the last 50 years and so if we look forward to having a greater future, there must be a PHASE SHIFT!

   Let’s  meet  at  the  top!
